PAINTING

PAINTING

UNDERGRADUATE (Bachelor of Arts)

Educational Objectives

The Painting course aims to develop artistic skills and qualified professionalism that take into account the pluralism of languages and the innovations in techniques that define contemporary art. In this way, students will be able to develop their own individual research in the field of painting, whether linked to traditional techniques or its evolution within the context of experimenting with new expressive languages.

Students will receive appropriate methodological and critical tools for engaging with and dialoguing with the most advanced contemporary languages. This will be achieved through the study of life drawing, the representation of the human body with the help of models and performers, and an understanding of the concepts expressed in the broader context of Art Theory and Art History. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in meetings with artists and personalities from the art world in order to advance their own autonomous and personal awareness of artistic production.

Individual directions will be fostered through continuous feedback from both professors and peers during practical laboratory sessions, which can also lead to further development in the specialized Master program. The study of English for artistic communication and computer literacy, understood as tools for relational communication, promotion, and self-updating (contacts, networks, consultations, texts), as well as telematic communication within specific areas of expertise, will also be significant.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates from the school will engage in artistic research in the field of visual arts and creative industries, applying their acquired skills both in traditional painting through various professional applications (illustration, decoration, restoration, etc.), and in the realm of new linguistic expressions (public art, video games, light painting, augmented reality, etc.).

The Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti will organize, thanks to existing agreements with municipal museums, the Villa Croce Contemporary Art Museum, Sala Dogana, GAI (Italian Young Artists Network), and private entities, the most appropriate internships, traineeships, and exhibition events to help students achieve the necessary professional skills.

Students can also meet the institutional requirements to teach artistic subjects in public and private schools at various levels.
